Audio Intervisual Design, Inc. invites you to join us for three days of  hands-on demonstrations of Storage Area Technology (SAN) and Pro Tools.  We’ll be showing 6 systems sharing the same RAID 5 storage, enough to operate a dubbing stage, and giving you fault-tolerant operation even in the event of a drive failure.

Why does real-time sharing matter?  The nightmare of managing file-copy after file-copy is gone!  With “push-pull” networking schemes, each operator “pulls” the data they need off the “server”, creating a file-copy on their system.  When they’re done, they “push” the data back, creating yet another file-copy.  Copy after copy after copy:  which one is the latest work?  When all systems run in real-time off the central RAID storage, there’s little need to copy material to the local drives.
