AACS License Fees For Small Production Lowered!

This agreement reflects long-sought reductions in AACS fees that will be of special interest to small quantity Blu-ray producers. Here are the pieces that will be MOST of interest to independent producers looking for reductions in AACS fees:

       


 

 

 

 

Fee Category Was: Now: Notes
AACS Content Provider License $3000 one-time $500 /yr Provides for an annual fee option*
AACS Title Key Certificate $1300 $500 / key Still "per Glass Master", so be careful!
AACS per-disc Royalty $0.04/disc $0.04/disc Fee has not changed

 

* Licensee may still elect the $3000 one-time option, but the $500/yr option will be the presumed default
Annual Fee payments DO NOT accrue towards the $3000, but DO top out at $5000 (after 10 years).
