The Dolby® Media Encoder SE software encoder offers all the powerful professional mastering features of the Dolby Media Encoder network version, supporting all Dolby technologies for packaged media formats—Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, Dolby TrueHD, and MLP Lossless™. This cost-effective single computer encoding solution is designed for smaller postproduction facilities that prepare audio files for DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, HD DVD, and Blu-ray Disc formats.

Operating in non-real-time, Dolby Media Encoder SE allows the operator to cue multiple jobs for overnight, unattended processing. Source and encoded files can be previewed using an integral playback decoder. The software supports encoding and metadata generation for any or all of the specified Dolby formats from standard audio source files. It works with existing timecode or permits embedding new, user-definable code. Previously encoded content can also be updated using the punch-in overdub feature. The intuitive Mac OS® X interface simplifies preparation of encoding jobs. Dolby Media Encoder SE has been designed to work in conjunction with the Dolby Media Decoder and Dolby Media Tools software products, available separately.
