Pro Tools TDM 6.2.3 Software for Pro Tools|HD Systems With Mac OS X 10.3.2 Now Available

The Pro Tools 6.2.3 software update for Mac OS X-based Pro Tools TDM systems is now available. The TDM portion of the third of Digidesign’s phased releases, this software update provides support for Power Mac G5/G4 and Mac OS X 10.3.2 (“Panther”) with Pro Tools|HD and Pro Tools|HD Accel. Full improved SCSI support, full track count with FireWire drives, and improved AVoption|XL performance are featured in this release; the Pro Tools LE release of Pro Tools 6.2.3 will follow shortly after this release.

Anyone running Pro Tools TDM 6.2.2 software should update to Pro Tools TDM 6.2.3 to take advantage of improved FireWire track count and SCSI performance. Pro Tools TDM 6.2.3 is also qualified with some older CPUs, so those who already own older Power Mac G4s and have upgraded to Mac OS X 10.3.2 can now purchase new Pro Tools|HD and HD Accel systems with full confidence.

The Pro Tools TDM 6.2.3 update is available as a download here and will also be available from Audio Intervisual Design, your full-line Digidesign dealer, beginning early March.

Phase III Release Features

The Pro Tools TDM 6.2.3 software release provides the following:

• Full voice/track count with FireWire (Mac OS X 10.3.2 required)
• Full SCSI track count for HD Accel systems
• CardBus support for Mac OS X 10.3.2*
• Improved AVoption|XL performance
• Extending qualification to Macintosh computers with speeds of 733 MHz ("Quicksilver") and higher for Power Macs
• A "Non-Administrator" beta version of Pro Tools TDM 6.2.3 will be provided on the installer CD in the "Beta Software" folder. This will allow the use of Pro Tools without having to be an administrator. Please keep in mind that this is beta software and is not qualified or supported by Digidesign or Audio Intervisual Design.

FREE Update for Registered Owners of Pro Tools 6.0 or Newer

The Pro Tools TDM 6.2.3 software update is free to all Mac-based customers who own registered Pro Tools 6.0 or newer software. The update is available three ways:

• Audio Intervisual Design — Pro Tools TDM 6.2.3 software CDs will be available at Audio Intervisual Design, your local Digidesign TDM dealer, in early March. Customers need an authorization code from Pro Tools 6.0 or above to authorize the software.
• Web Downloads — Pro Tools TDM 6.2.3 software upgrades are now available on the Digidesign website here. These downloads are very large, so a fast Internet connection is recommended.
• Full installer CDs for Pro Tools TDM 6.2.3 software will soon be available through the DigiStore for $4.95 US plus shipping and local tax, where applicable.

Pro Tools 6.2.3 Inclusion in New Pro Tools Systems

Full installer CDs with Pro Tools TDM 6.2.3 software will be included in shipping Pro Tools|HD products beginning March 8th, 2004.
