Medéa Announces VideoRaid RT3 and VideoRaid RT3X Disk Arrays Optimized for Content Creation Applications

Industry’s First ATA to Ultra320 SCSI RAIDs with Prices Below $3.60/GB

Calabasas, CA October 28, 2003 - Medéa Corporation today unveiled VideoRaid RT3 and VideoRaid RT3X, the latest additions to its award winning line of VideoRaid disk arrays and the industry’s first ATA-based RAID storage solutions to feature a high-performance Ultra320 SCSI interface.

About VideoRaid RT3

VideoRaid RT3 features a single-channel Ultra320 SCSI interface and storage capacities up to 1.25 TB – enough space for over 12 hours of 10-bit uncompressed SD footage – in a compact desktop enclosure. VideoRaid RT3 supports the real-time playback of multiple SD video streams and will capture and playback 8-bit, 1080/24p HD footage.

About VideoRaid RT3X

VideoRaid RT3X is a dual-channel, Ultra320 SCSI disk array with ten disk drives and is available in storage capacities up to 2.5 TB in a low profile (3U) rack mountable enclosure. When each channel of VideoRaid RT3X is striped together using an Ultra320 SCSI adapter, the system provides more than enough performance to capture and playback the highest quality 10-bit, 1080i HD footage.

Compatibility

VideoRaid RT3 and VideoRaid RT3X are compatible with the leading real-time SD and HD editing systems for both the Mac and Windows platforms including AJA’s Io and Kona SD/HD, Pinnacle’s CineWave RT Pro/HD and Avid non-linear
editing systems.

Pricing and Availability

VideoRaid RT3 is available in capacities up to 1.25 TB with list prices starting at $2,129 USD. VideoRaid RT3X is available in capacities up to 2.5 TB with list prices starting at $3,959 USD. VideoRaid RT3 and RT3X will be available in
November 2003 from Audio Intervisual Design.
