Canopus Announces New Line of Smart Scan Converters

New VGA-to-TV converters are affordable, high-quality solutions for TV presentations

San Jose , Calif. (October 20, 2003) – Canopus Corporation today announced its new line of Smart Scan Converters (SSC). The Canopus SSC line includes SSC100 and SSC120EX scan converters that convert the PC's VGA display out to TV or VCR. Featuring superior display quality and Canopus 's advanced Track and Zoom technology, the Canopus SSC series is ideal for business presentations and training videos. The Canopus Smart Scan Converters are easy-to-use and affordable solutions for the consumer, corporate and educational markets.

SSC100 and SSC120EX support screen resolution sizes up to 1600x1200 and feature proprietary Canopus Track and Zoom technology. These capabilities provide the unique ability to track, zoom and output any application window or desktop area to a television, VCR or monitor. Canopus Track and Zoom Technology can dynamically track the area around the mouse pointer, making it ideal for sharper video presentations or creating focused tutorials.

Canopus 's SSC series features easy, one-click mouse operation with advanced controls, including brightness, contrast, sharpness, saturation, flicker filter, overscan and aspect ratio adjustments.

SSC100 is an internal PCI powered scan converter with a suggested retail price of $179, while SSC120EX is a convenient external USB-powered scan converter with a suggested retail price of $199. The Canopus SSC series will be available from Audio Intervisual Design starting November 1, 2003.
