Canopus Announces DVStorm2 Pro+

DVStorm2 gets component video output and is bundled with a comprehensive collection of video editing, transcoding, effects and authoring software for producing professional video productions

San Jose, Calif. (October 20, 2003) – Canopus Corporation today announced DVStorm2 Pro+, the newest addition to the company’s popular DVStorm2 product line. Designed for the professional, DVStorm2 Pro+ features component video output and MPEGCraft, Canopus’s new, frame-accurate MPEG editing tool. To provide a powerful and attractively priced realtime editing offering, Canopus is bundling its EDIUS LE realtime editing software that delivers exceptional productivity and flexibility, and the Adobe® Video Collection, which is comprised of the company’s award-winning video software, including Adobe Premiere® Pro for nonlinear video editing, Adobe After Effects® for effects and compositing, Adobe Audition™ for audio editing and Adobe Encore™ DVD for professional DVD authoring.

DVStorm2 Pro+’s new Adobe Premiere Pro plug-in lets users preview and output both native Premiere Pro effects and Canopus effects simultaneously in realtime. When using the full version of Canopus EDIUS or Adobe Premiere Pro, DVStorm2 Pro+ delivers five simultaneous realtime video streams and unlimited title and graphics layers. DVStorm2 Pro+ provides unmatched realtime multi-track editing, an ample collection of realtime filters, 3D effects and realtime, render-free DV output. DVStorm2 Pro+ also provides realtime color correction with waveform/vectorscope, variable speed control, the industry’s leading DV chroma key, auto white balance, region filter, voiceover recording, and more.

Using the included Canopus MediaCruise MPEG capture software, DVStorm2 Pro+ captures DV and analog source video and encodes them to MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 files in realtime.MPEGCraft provides video professionals with frame-accurate MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 editing, GOP-based editing, and segment-only reencoding capabilities for fast, efficient production of MPEG footage. In addition, Canopus includes its acclaimed ProCoder LE for EDIUS.
