AID Equips Bruce Maddocks' Cups 'N Strings Studios with 24-channels of 24-bit/96kHz AES i/o for Nuendo

The first Nuendo system with 24-channels of 24-bit/96kHz AES audio using SEK'D Prodif 88 is already proving itself in high-profile projects as a multitrack recorder and surround mastering workstation.

When recording industry leader Bruce Maddocks needed to expand the multitrack capabilities of his Nuendo system, he came to Audio Intervisual Design looking for a solution.

“I contacted Jim Pace at [AID] and [we] discussed the Prodif 88,” Maddocks continues. Jim explained how multiple Prodif 88 cards can be linked together in one system, each providing 8 channels of 24-bit/96kHz audio using AES – not Lightpipe (ADAT). “[The card] was delivered the same day. I put the card in my computer, installed the driver, clicked two or three buttons and started passing encode signals into it and out of it. It worked like a champ, and believe me, it saved my butt."

Maddocks also recently transferred the original Steely Dan "Gaucho" multitrack tapes for Elliot Scheiner through the Prodif 88 and Swissonic A/D converters he got from Audio Intervisual Design into the Nuendo system for 5.1 release.
