You
are Invited... |
| On Friday, July 25th 2003,
Audio Intervisual Design invites you to our High-Definition
Video Post-Production Workflow Seminar. Together with
AJA Video, JVC Professional, Rorke Data, Discreet, and
Stewart Filmscreen, we will be discussing new workflow
and demonstrating the latest products that combine to
make HD more affordable and approachable than ever.
We will also show uncompressed standard-definition and
offline products, with special emphasis on how these
integrate with the HD products.
High Definition has already revolutionized high-end
television and film post-production. Newer HD tools
have matured in features and workflow, while costs have
reduced. HD may not be much more than Uncompressed Standard-Definition
for many applications. Savvy facility owners, independent
producers, and editors are taking advantage of this
to differentiate their services, expand into new market
segments, and realize greater profitability.
At our event in North Hollywood, CA, you will learn
what is working and available now for your production,
in what ways it is already being used, and how affordable
and easy to use it is. This smaller venue filled with
experts from AID and the developers offers real answers
to your tough questions without the hassle and frenzy
of a trade show. We’ll be showcasing a wide range
of products including but not limited to AJA Io and
Kona HD running with Apple Final Cut Pro 4; JVC HD monitors,
D-VHS and Pro-HD technology; Rorke ImageSAN and storage;
and Discreet Combustion compositing software.
We’re offering this valuable event to professionals
at no cost. However, we urge you to RSVP
early as space is very limited and accommodations must
be made. Please include your contact information, how
many will attend, and if you prefer the 10AM or 2PM
session. Please do not hesitate to contact us ahead
of time with questions or comments. We look forward
to seeing you.

the event with their ImageSAN software on display. |

About
the Presentations |

HD Editing with AJA Kona HD & Final Cut Pro 4:
AJA’s Ted Schilowitz will
be on hand to show the capabilities of Kona HD for uncompressed
10-bit and 8-bit HD editing, as well as capturing PhotoJPEG-compressed
files for offline editing with Final Cut Pro equipped
G4 desktop or notebook computers.
Offline HD & Uncompressed SD Editing with AJA Io
& Final Cut Pro 4: With uncompressed
NTSC/PAL editing, all the analog and digital connections
you could need, and a price of just $2,290, AJA's Io
has made a huge splash since its introduction at NAB.
Io was designed in a collaboration between AJA and Apple
and is built new for Final Cut Pro 4. Be one of the
first to see it in action, with special attention to
editing 24p and offline HD formats.

Cost Effective HD Review and Distribution with JVC
D-VHS and Pro-HD: Audie Scott from
JVC will be on hand to discuss the challenges of affordable
high-definition client review and secure internal distribution.
JVC's D-VHS and Pro-HD format use inexpensive VHS-style
tapes and players with a digital HD stream that rivals
the quality of uncompressed masters. Along with security
encryption to control distribution, it is the only affordable
and secure distribution format for HD. Also shown will
be HD projectors (DLA-SX21 and DLA-G150CL) and monitors
(DTV-1900CGU and DTV-1700CGU).
UPDATE: JVC will also be showing their new JY-HD10U
720p HD camcorder, shipping now for $3,995.

Compositing for HD with Discreet Combustion: Discreet’s
Marshal Fontaine will show their highly-acclaimed Combustion,
a multi-platform compositor featuring a similar interface
and vertical integration with their de facto standard
compositng/finishing tools Inferno, Flame and Flint.
Combustion offers a true 3D composition space (not 3D
layers), the ability to interchange 3D camera data,
textures, and other meta-data with leading 3D modeling/animation
applications, and has a new low price that makes it
a perfect supplement or alternative to After Effects
for more-demanding effects work.
